East Coast Tour June 2015

It's my first time visiting Atlantic Canada, and I can't wait to make new friends and discover the richness of the region.  I hope to see you out there, on the road, at a celidh, at a festival - come say hi!

The Bluegrass Situation

Big thanks to The Bluegrass Situation for premiering my song "When Sorrows Encompass Me Round" as a preview to the US release of my album 'Sorrow Bound' with Kingswood Records on June 16. Stay tuned for more performance dates.  I am looking forward to hitting the road with these new songs.

New record label and US release

Music friends, I am thrilled to let you know that I have signed with Kingswood Records in the United States. Please check out their wonderful label, and their related music documentary projects. I am honoured to be part of their musical family.

'Sorrow Bound' will be officially released in the USA on June 16, and I am already working on my next album, slated for 2016.

Thank you for all the support you have given. I cannot wait to share the next part of this journey with you.

I hope to share some more video…Read more

About Kaia

Few are more conscious in their journey through Appalachian histories and the Canadian musical landscape than Kaia. Born in Montreal, Kaia has lived Winnipeg, Wakefield and, most recently, West Virginia, she now resides in Toronto. Her old-time banjo-picking skills, deft arrangements, and songwriting abilities have landed her in the spotlight in North America and the UK, garnering critical acclaim from outlets such as Rolling Stone, CBC Music and The Roots Music Report.  Often praised for her capacity to sound new and old at once, Kaia anchors her music the space where tradition and innovation intersect.
